Summer 2010 - Molar Pass
The summer 2010 hikes will be in Molar Pass, in Banff Park. We are very fortunate to have this camp site, last visited by Skyline in 2001. All of the day hikes will get above tree line, where we will see flower strewn alpine meadows and broad views of spectacular mountains and glaciers. Moderate hikes have lake or lookout destinations, while more advanced hikers may test their endurance by, for example, trekking to Fish Lakes or climbing 2950m Bicuspid Mountain.
The distance from trailhead to camp is 7 km on a good trail with a modest 250m elevation gain. At a moderate pace the hike into camp should take about 3.5 hours including a lunch stop.
In addition to the professional cooks and camp staff, each hike has a volunteer host or hostess, chief leader, camp musician, and medical personnel.
Dates for the hikes this year are:- July 12 - July 17
- July 19 - July 24
- July 26 - July 31
- August 2 - August 7
- August 9 - August 14
