Getting there
Transportation
Banff is just over 100 km west of Calgary; bus and limo services are available, including regular service from the Calgary airport. If you are coming by car, some hotels can arrange parking for the time you're on the hike, and we will provide information on other parking arrangements.
Make sure you arrive in time to drop off your duffel and attend the pre-hike meeting. Details are in the letter from the registrar.
The map of key locations will help you find everything
You will receive a letter from the registrar with any updates or corrections to the information for this year's hike. Final details, including bus pick-up times, parking arrangements in Banff, and any last minute changes, will be distributed at the pre-hike meeting on the evening before the hike.
Getting Around Banff
Walk! That's what we're here for! Locations for the pre-hike meeting and bus pickup are shown on the map, and you can see that Banff is a small town just made for strolling around. The Town of Banff website has lots of other maps and information.
Accommodations
You will need accommodation in or near Banff for the night before the hike, and may choose to stay the night after depending on your travel schedule. It can be difficult to find space available at the last minute, and we recommend that you reserve well in advance.
Pre-Hike Meeting
The last step in getting there is the bus to trailhead. Bus schedule and other important information will be available at check-in and at the pre-hike meeting the evening before the hike.
